When my son turned 2 years old, I introduced him to the potty. After some success in the first day, he later refused to use the potty (he seemed scared to look at his poo in the potty). So I stopped. A few days later I read this book to him, and he liked it almost instantly. I also told him that the boy in the book is him, and he liked that idea very much. 2 weeks later, he started using the potty by himself (pee and poo) and was no longer scared.

I think the Babybjorn potty, Tippitoes Toilet Trainer Seat, and this book are all contributing to this result.

Fun and helpful to get us through the second, successful round of saying goodbye to nappies! my 3 yo son loves lifting the flaps, he really loves the door at the end and pretending to knock on it, excuse me, have you finished? Good fun. We talked about the Americanisms and my son found this interesting, we say poo not poop don’t we mummy? So all fine and good fun.

Nicely illustrated lift the flap book on the subject of poop.

For UK readers, just substitute your choice of word to replace Mommy.
Bought for a reluctant toilet pooper. Have yet to see any change, but getting him to talk about poo might just help.

A few days later and success! FINALLY!!!!! First poo on the toilet.
Also used a netmums tip about getting them to blow up a balloon while sitting on the toilet. Uses the same muscles apparently.
Thanks AMAZON, a new toilet seat (cars), a few books on the subject of poo, a balloon, and the promise of a surprise (precious petzzz) if he goes has worked wonders where no amount of stickers, stars, bribes, and pleading have worked before.
    RELIEF!!!
